' Have been there, when the river was about three feet from the top of the levee - 20 feet above the ground. And that was just snow-melt plus rainy-day in an otherwise uneventful year.... ( was also the day an ebb tide "buried the nun" -- the channel marker at lands end, with a 6-knot current! ).
