Show PostAs a big fan of 70s art, I always marveled at how different the 80s were, how even the progressives became more conservative, rigid and ungenerous and illiberal. It felt to me, reading 20+ years later, like a bomb had gone off in 1979. And looking around now I think, "Oh, the bomb went off again."
