In America we pay extra Tases so the Rich don’t have to. And I’d rather have national healthcare. Your lucky.

I'm in the UK too & think the National Health Service is the best thing about it. I've rarely needed it, but am reassured that it's there for me if I do - and very happy to pay taxes into it in the meantime so that others, like micklar, get all the care they need too!

It goes deeper than that as well. When we Gen X'rs were kids, the schools taught us that socialized medicine was bad and people got horrible care. This news was delivered by liberal teachers.

It would not be free in US, also paid by taxes, but considerably less and with better coverage than current system.

Exactly, for the mythology of capitalism holds us hostage. Taxing the billionaires and universal healthcare is what I vote for, and our voice is growing. Crush the oligarchy.
