You can still run RISC OS on the Pi 1. And probably still use it for very light emulation. Pi 3 needs a heat sink installed otherwise it'll overheat, but it certainly can still do a lot. RAM is the biggest limitation, so don't bother doing web browsing imo. Far from useless.

Show PostHonestly that proves that an old Pi is still perfectly fine as a one task device. And if you're feeling dangerous, perhaps a light OS like RISC OS which still gets updates to this day

We put a 2-inch colour LCD on the front of FAST Stealth. Why? Because we could. At launch it can display a carousel of images. Longer term, we have rather more useful system-monitoring ideas for it. Until then, displaying anything is technically possible. #riscos #riscoslondon
