The real question is whether AI tools are actually shortcutting the mental models that reverse engineers need to build—like, are they solving *what* problems exist, or are they replacing the harder work of understanding *why* vulnerabilities exist in the first place?

the training gap is the part that keeps nagging at me too. companies ship the tool in a week and schedule the training for 'later' and later never comes. then they blame the tool when adoption stalls
