I bike to and from work. There are no bike lanes on my route. I’m on my bike for maybe 20 mins max. And yet, it’s a rare day when a car doesn’t nearly hit me.

Saturday, my friends and I were driving out of town for a trip. Before we were 10 minutes away from the house, a driver sped through a stop sign at an intersection and would have t-boned our car if my friend hadn’t expertly swerved out of the way. It would’ve meant a hospital stay if she hadn’t.

On the East side there are also businesses and destinations on Gerrard and Kingston and Queen AND the beach. On the West side it's all just residential. There's many more reasons for people to bike in the area. But bike share used to be hard to find out here. Build it and they will come.
