15 October 1937 Margaret Ashton died. Manchester’s first female councillor, a pacifist and suffragist, she organised a peaceful protest in 1908 for votes for women. She campaigned for better wages for factory girls and improved maternal health care, helping found Manchester Babies’ Hospital.

There is effectively zero cost to actually take it into ownership. Remuneration is a choice, but many of these companies are already in receipt of govt bailouts or waived fines. Functionally bankrupt companies shouldn’t be remunerated for nationalisation. Running cost is a different matter.

Alternatively he might simply have been pointing out that Brexit helps Putin deliver his strategic objective of weakening the EU??And it’s risible to think that Russia Today was the only instrument of interference. And we wouldn’t have been able to support Ukraine had we been in the EU. Really?
