I lost who I thought were my friends. Ones I had since I was 4/5 years old. I may have stayed in touch, but I didn't trust them anymore. I knew they did not give a shit about me, they didn't care what happened to me and they valued the assaulters version of events - and their acquaintance more.

I have a friend who no longer goes to many events and restaurants because her stalker/harasser/gaslighter often goes to them. Her life is much smaller because of him, while he enjoys the freedom to go where he wants, and do what he wants, after making her life hell.

I noped out of one of my big industry conferences about ten years ago because it was run partially by a bunch of gross dudes and their enablers. I see them and others who stuck around getting opportunities now that aren't accessible to the rest of us. It's disheartening.
