A lot of people have been speculating over what this new station will play. Whatever the playlist is, I bet they don't play anything which doesn't have influences which you can very easily trace back to music from outside the UK. And that's what makes it such a deeply silly idea.

It's a commercial station aimed at a fairly old audience, I assume they'll play largely mainstream rock and pop from the 60s to the 90s, which means it'll be heavily rooted in Black American music of the 50s to the 70s. A "British" music radio station is just a stupid concept.
