I think you've failed to reckon with what you've done, despite all the time you've had. It's one thing to say "I did this." It's a whole different thing to dedicate 10 years to putting yourself on a pedestal, knowingly put more people in harms way, and call it "reckoning" bcus of the guilt you felt.

I remember reading about this years ago when her autobiography came out. She said she regretted using that language, but never addressed her other writings and stories. It's a shame, because I loved Infinity Mirrors. But art doesn't excuse racism and offensive comments about people.
