I don’t consider myself a Christian any more. Haven’t for years. I don’t labor under the false pretense that Christian=good or that being a Christian imbues you with some kind of moral clarity or authority. But the evangelical church still wounds me in the way only an ex-best friend or lover can.

I went to the other place by mistake just now & I can't believe I put up w/ it for so long. It felt like ppl running around w/ machetes, swinging wildly, screaming, setting fires, while the TV in the background plays stories like "Democracy was always stupid and we are idiots. Also fruit is evil."
