1920’s USA was pretty fascist. Bad in ways that are not too dissimilar to now. Migrants were being forced out of the US, KKK terrorized communities and marched on DC. 1930’s elections brought us the New Deal. I’m not trying to be naive, but all hope of avoiding worse is not yet lost.

Here in CA, almost everyone votes by mail. From the comfort of our living room. We get a text when our vote is counted. They automatically register citizens to vote once they turn 18 and interact with the DMV. And every audit shows that there’s little fraud happening. That’s democracy!
