It was an honor to sign the guest book in the home of Anne Frank. I was here as a younger man and thought about her life as a dark chapter of history. Today, I can’t help but think of her story as one of caution. Our world is fragile, and it’s incumbent on us not to break it.

So I get this on a deep level. It’s huge. To be at a point of healing when you can publicly reclaim your voice after abuse is an immense victory in itself. I feel like this account has become a little piece of that for me as well. It means a lot to yap with all of you here. More than you know.

It’s all interrelated. The last decade has been so traumatizing for those of us who had to repeatedly confront new layers of our abuse and directly name and call out our abusers. It’s hard to wrap my mind around the reality that was just the prologue. But it’s good to have a voice again.
