'Universities have largely operated according to a transaction model. Students enrol on a degree, universities deliver it, students graduate and the educational transaction is effectively complete.' The sad thing is that my module (and my colleagues' contributions) was designed to teach all those things through learning about literature, culture etc., on the spoonful of sugar principle, and because students want subject-based material. They did really well too.

It is a good analogy. I like to clarify by telling folks to think about whether this is something you want to learn or be able to do. I’m probably worse at sweeping since I have a roomba; I can live with that. I can’t live with getting worse at interpreting data because ai does it for me.
