There are reasons Disabled people say we don't really care if people get things they aren't "entitled to" by pretending to be Disabled. It's partly because the folks trying to spot the fakers and putting in place all sorts of gatekeeping are making our lives way worse than any "faker" does.

The idea that accessibility is a limited and non-renewable resource consistently keeps people from imagining a better world where we've designed things so everyone can actually get what they need and be comfortable. It also keeps people from demanding changes for the better from those with power.

We could, and just hear me out, not give a fuck about able bodied persons receiving the benefits of accommodations. This is actually what we should do about it: nothing. Not a fucking thing. supposed "grift" is only a problem in a world looking for an excuse to deny accommodations.
