Like a great episode of Simpsons, it left me with many thoughts. I look forward to hearing good-faith responses to this ep, and Apu and Manjula's return. I want to listen to the thoughts from South Asian and other voices on this, if they feel like it addresses Apu well after all this time
Show PostI've now watched last night's Halloween ep, Treehouse of Horror Presents: The Revengening, and I give it a legit thumbs up. And third act is a great meta exploration of the last decade of Apu and the series in general, Sunil Malhotra's performance was touching as viewers are reminded why Apu matters
Show PostMore meta is that the ep took time in the episode for lines from other recent recasts, including a new Dr. Nick Riviera. It made Apu (and Majula, now played by Janina Gavankar) a kind of finishing touch to the work the producers have done in the last decade to inclusively expand the voice cast
Show Postbro said maybe 10 words the entire time, played an entirely unique setlist of antifascist music along with covers ranging from War Pigs to Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds, and proved himself to be The Folk Singer of our generation
