That's not accurate, and it's not fair to trans people and allies looking for research about trans health, just like it's not helpful to say you're writing about "LGBT relationships" and then only talk about same-sex relationships. "LGB isn't a thing and it's always transphobic" is inaccurate.

I am a researcher and writer and trainer on queer and trans mental health. If I'm talking solely about sexual minorities, I use "LGB" to make that clear. There's a lot of crap writing out there that says the authors are looking at "LGBT" people but what they mean is sexual minorities.

Honey, I remember when we were fighting just to get the "B" part included. There have been changes in "the acronym" over time for inclusivity and visibility purposes, but if you're genuinely looking at sexual orientation and not gender identity, "LGB" is a legit description.
