I wept the tiniest bit when I heard this news--a good man badly needed on this earth right now! www.cbsnews.com/news/pope-le...
Show PostThe government in Guinea Bissau is planning a rollout of the birth dose in 2027 and I am sure any funds raised would help support that effort. Thanks to other researchers who kept speaking on this both in the US and in Africa especially @gavinyamey.bsky.social my partner in making good trouble.
Show PostSpecial shout out to @melodyschreiber.com who has stayed on the beat for this story. @standupforscience.net for all of their advocacy and also leading the charge to raise funds to cover HepB vaccines so new borns in GB can be vaccinated and not preyed upon by unethical studies.
Show PostMy biggest lessons from this is that, many voices calling out unethical research still have the power to prevent harm. The global health community came together is solidarity and in advocacy to speak up on why the proposed study was so abhorrent. This was amplified by health journalists.
Show PostIn a timeline of very bad news this is the best news that I have read today. The controversial Hepatitis B study planned by Danish researchers in Guinea Bissau has now been halted. It was unethical when it was proposed and is still unethical today. www.theguardian.com/world/2026/o...
