Most octopuses live on the seafloor, but not Japetella diaphana. This gelatinous octopus lives out in the open ocean, floating around. They don't even lay eggs on the seafloor; instead Japetella mothers carry around their eggs, floating in the bathyal zone where sunlight doesn't reach. #OCTOtober
