$422.2 million is a huge number. If free help is available, it’s worth asking why so many veterans still end up paying attorneys or claims agents. That suggests a lot of people either find the process too difficult to handle alone or don’t feel the free options are enough.

I can’t imagine depending on a disability check and suddenly losing it because you qualified for another benefit.Veterans shouldn’t have to discover these rules only after the VA starts taking money back.This is exactly why clear guidance matters before a small decision becomes a financial disaster.
