Academic standards went down as fees went up with Blair's expansion of higher education. It's not that long since the CBI complained that graduates weren't meeting expectations and more universities provided remedial literacy classes for freshers. It seems to have become all about money, not merit.

Jason Arday was the subject of a long conversation between Kathleen Stock and some bloke on UnHerd, as just one example of the attention he's attracted. But he's not the only fraud in higher education. Look at Sally Hines of Sheffield, a so-called expert in "gender studies".
