#NewIllustrationoftheDay by Eva Sanchez Gomez in gouache from the Folio Society edition, published on 13 Oct, of Hans Christian Andersen's The Snow Queen. Gerda rides through the snowstorm. Skilfully and sweetly drawn action, with the red skirt vivid against the landscape. @foliosociety.bsky.social

How long a list do you want? I memorised most of Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats, for starters…

I think Grapes of Wrath is a critical favorite. But Tortilla Flats made me laugh and laugh. And Travels With Charlie was fun too. I need to reread East of Eden bc I missed the greatness. Whoosh over my head

#NewIllustrationOfTheDay by James Mayhew from his retelling of Prokofiev’s Peter and the Wolf. The layers of handmade collage lying on top of each other are visible in the pages, which look slightly three-dimensional. Otter-Barry Books 1 Oct @otterbarrybooks.bsky.social @bouncemarketing.bsky.social
