Just got absolutely sucker punched by grief. Husband mentioned his dad turned 80 today and I was hit by a wave of intense envy and loss at the same time. My mom was 70 when she died. She would've been 81 if she was still with us. I hadn't been keeping track but hearing that FIL was 80 hit me hard.

Okay, let's say you have a romantic view of space travel. Learning to live sustainably together on Earth is the test we have to pass to even try to reach the stars. Earth is not something to grow out of, shed, or escape from. Earth is, now and forever, our only safe harbor - if we can keep it.

Show PostFoolishly did some yard work despite still feeling depleted after yesterday. Got the last three ninebark saplings planted and watered, cut and painted an autumn olive I found growing, and pulled some burdock before my fatigue and the neighbor's perpetual leaf fire got to me.
