This was pure murder, and at the very least I want the jobs of the people responsible. I want them to lie awake at night staring at the wall knowing they violated their oaths and they took a life. I want them to understand, in their souls, that they have no right to call themselves physicians.

Calling it social murder, despite it fitting Engel's framework, feels like a diminishment of the deliberate cruelty and negligence this took on a personal level. It was not diffuse harm across society leading to faster or preventable deaths, this was atrocious dereliction of care.

The doctors/administrators on the cancer ward that turned her away must have known the consequences. The NHS typically treats cancer with some urgency, I had it as a child and never knew such swiftness in my care, to the point it was a little alarming.
