And of course, I appreciate that the galaxy images are from JWST, so the diffraction spikes also have a hexagonal symmetry. 😊

Also, I really like the hexagonal grid pattern. It echoes the symmetry of the "Eightfold Way" diagrams that were key to connecting the properties of hadrons and discovering quarks, in the early 1960s. There's a nice discussion of the diagrams here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eightfo...
