Seeing Oklab enjoyed and used by so many is mind-boggling! I still can’t quite comprehend that I wrote a blog post that ended up as a web standard and in software everywhere. Best part is seeing so many people say they enjoy Oklab and that it is a tool they regularly use.

Re the last repost, one of the things that has stuck from my time in the behavioural science snake oil mines was an experiment where if people planned a week of movie viewing they would pick a mix of genres, some 'highbrow' etc but if they picked day to day it was all the same stuff

As @philbybear.bsky.social pointed out in their excellent thread, the impetus for me to write about this, there are a lot of problems in RE7 where the narrative and the treatment of the characters fails. But a lot of people tried to not let it fail without a fight.

One of the reasons I'm against genAI in games is because I saw the process on RE7 of multiple people trying to pull the game into a better direction and fighting to keep it there. If the art director and EP could've had everything they envisioned out the gate, it would have been a terrible game.
