Show PostSO, What if I want to avoid a proper driver and use an opto isolator to drive a relay? well, the relay pulls 48mA and the PC817 is good for 50mA (CRINGE!!!) lets put this on a 1Hz cycle and leave it going for a few hours....
Show PostThis is a circuit that worked for me, what I did, was take an unregulated, isolated 5v:5v converter (B0505-1w) & use it to boost the 3-4.2V that would come from a lithium-ion to a regulated 5V via regulation from an LM393 . It can handle a 100mA load fine. (goal: LDO to 3.3v @ 80mA )
