You could polish the words off the front glass (that might be better done at a makerspace), or add a bit of "snow and ice" over them with dried clear glue mixed with something white and powdery. People put glitter and such on glass for winter ornaments all the time, so it should be available.

There's "window color," that people use to make and add temporary "stained glass" stickers, so that might be a low-stake option to try. I used it to mask glass cracks with bright art. They sell individual bottles in craft stores. www.vbs-hobby.com//en/kreul-wi...
