I ran an experiment, simultaneously posting articles on Bluesky and X, and then testing to see how many people actually clicked and read them. The numbers on Bluesky are higher, both because the X algorithm downranks journalism, and because Bluesky attracts readers, not just shitposters.

Whenever I try and raise awareness of the risk disabled people face when detained by ICE, I’m met with a chorus of voices asking “were they illegal?” Here’s the thing, it doesn’t matter if they’re here legally or not No human being should be made to suffer this way 🧵

No one consents to being disabled. We don’t choose it. It chooses us. We aren’t asked how we feel about it. Whether we can afford it or if we have family to care for us. It just happens. It’s not a moral failing, you can’t “try harder” your way out of it. Disability justice benefits everyone
