The thing is that for the most part, people DON'T buy it. People are freaking out at all of the AI stuff gunking up the Next Fest page, but the moment it starts getting ranked based on what people are actually playing, the AI stuff sinks out of sight. Nobody is touching it. It's making next to nil.

Honestly dealing with the valve rep after we got greenlit was like the second worst professional experience I ever had from an outside company while I was in gamedev Greenlight fucking sucked, you're 100% right, and it'd be even worse now that they have even more of a vested interested in the box

My first game spent almost a year in the top 10 on greenlight without getting approved, no communication from them. Then after IGN did a video interview about my game, it was silently approved a few hours later. Don't miss that system at all.
