Last folklore society bio today, George Basil Hall, a 19 century Englishman who married a woman from Bengal India, who relocated to New Mexico in early 20th century, presumably to work on a ranch & where he learned these cowboy tunes. Recorded by Prof AK Davis in 1935 when Hall lived in Middleburg.
