Instead of pouring all their resources into new features no one asked for (e.g., AI summaries that steal web traffic from the source info) maybe Google could focus on fixing features that people constantly use (e.g., stop the Google Scholar citation button from dropping ending page numbers)?

I love my academic friends, but I don't understand the ethics/logic of saying you won't participate in peer review when you're on sabbatical even though you are sending out your own work for review during the same period.
