I've seen a million variations on, "Get this -- it affects white people too!" and I don't ever think it's particularly helpful. Yes white immigrants are caught up in the administrative dragnet but that's mostly by accident, they're acceptable collateral. Maybe it has some rhetorical use. Not sold.
