The reason I think they'll be competitive is that they now mostly struggle with the same things that virtually every other organization does instead of with basic blocking and tackling stuff. Developing hitters is very hard for everyone, but the Mets used to not be able to rehab TJS effectively.

Mostly this year I think bad luck and the residue of some bad organizational practices, probably with some bad coaching also in the mix. With Peralta as I recall the issue was that he stopped getting his usual extension and they were unable to fix it, but by and large they can fix stuff now.

A bunch of restaurants in my neighborhood have AI generated signage, but mostly that just means I'm seeing more drippy stuff. But one place has a standee with daily specials that also seem AI-generated. I assume the kitchen loves adding one (1) beef rib to every pho order on Tuesdays (dine in only).
