Gaukroger (pp 135-139) discusses the "combination of free thought and censorship in Paris in the 1920s", mentioning that in 1624 "three anti-Aristotelian speakers [...] were exiled on pain of death from Paris", but no actual executions for being anti-Aristotelian (primarily pro-Copernican).
