At about 10:15 a.m., more than 120 Washington tsunami sirens along the inner and outer coast will be tested using the real wailing sound of a tsunami warning. DO NOT CALL 911. EAS will sound on radio & TV. Wireless Emergency Alert text system on cell phones will NOT be tested. Graphic has more.

Rachel won’t be have a symmetrical eye structure when it makes landfall, even though it is likely to strengthen as it does so. That’s because baroclinicity (clash of warm and cold air) will be the primary energy source, rather than warm oceans, making the storm asymmetrical. Klein et al. (2000) ⬇️

I live on Stone Way N @ 36th, and this morning all I could see of the Brooks building from my apartment was the outline. And it's across the street and down half a block. I couldn't see anything further until about 8ish...
