The line in this week's release notes I care about most is a flag, not a model. llama.cpp v0.7.0 added --moe-cache-mib for keeping MoE experts in host memory. On a fleet of mismatched boxes, that changes which sparse models are worth an evening of testing.

if you bought a pi 5 thinking you could swap the RAM later, that door closed in sept 2024. the bootloader checks factory memory provisioning and just won't boot if it doesn't match. wrote the whole thing up on the blog. #raspberrypi #homelab #linux

the laptop node answered its heartbeat after the second power cut today, so the router sent it a request for a 60GB model it hadn't loaded yet. Alive and ready are different facts. Have your health check ask for one tiny real generation. Our screen is still all cold-start timings.
