@automerge.bsky.social@automerge.bsky.social → @automerge.orgA hearty August issue with an ARK API guide, Livelymerge's argument that convergence ≠ correctness, a call for the slowest, weirdest Automerge docs, and more. Also, a thank-you for the kind write-up of my Keyhive→Bluesky prototype.
Show PostLast week's @automerge.org newsletter pointed me to Livelymerge's "Convergence Is Not Enough." I'd only seen it excerpted. Reading it in full sent me to Coln, then to the two papers underneath: Kleppmann's move-op and ECRO. A short thread on what those three do when they refuse something. 🧵
Show PostThis is the world most users of software live in: data in someone else’s database - and it’s also why a bunch of people have been very vocal about wanting private data to mean encrypted at rest. I want that too, and @automerge.org & KeyHive are likelier candidates to produce that.
Show PostCan't say how exciting it is to see the Automerge ecosystem adopted for an incredible amount of usecases. Such amazing engineering!!! #automerge #inkandswitch #localfirst
Show PostWe put a live programming system's entire heap inside an Automerge document — every object, class, method shared + persistent. It all worked, but it was sloooow. New lab note with Dan Ingalls and @pvh.ca on the optimizations that made Livelymerge 64× faster: www.inkandswitch.com/livelymerge/...
