I think credit cards are evil and I do not want to own one. I’ve managed my whole adult life just fine in Australia with debit cards only. But now Steam requires one to prove my age and there’s literally no other proof it will accept? My Steam account itself is 18 years old. This is absurd.

I want to be clear btw that I am not unusual for not having a credit card. Roughly half of Australian adults don’t own one. So roughly half of Australian adults can’t be verified on Steam?

I’m still waiting for a public statement regarding this incident and an apology from Freeplay and their board members.
