We have to stop side eyeing every man who enters a caregiving role but rather let them be innocent until proven guilty. We have to, ultimately, treat men in those roles the same way we treat women. Being aware of potential red flags, yes, but not letting an identity be a red flag in and of itself.

Apropos of no event in particular, but something I've been meaning to say: If we want men as a whole to take on a greater role in nurturing and caring for children, we have to LET them. We have to stop assuming that every man who spends time around children is doing so for indecent purposes.
