I agree completely, I think that's a very important collection to have. The issue I had is people telling us to "just learn Spanish" and insinuating that we were stupid for not knowing it. There's a lot of systemic oppression behind why immigrants don't learn their native language in the US

Again, I'm happy that people created their own place and was happy to adjust to be included, but to be called stupid for not knowing a language that was beaten out of my grandparents was something that I no longer wanted to participate in. I hope that makes sense. No ill ntent towards the event
