Discord forums just don't seem the same as a dedicated forum with its own wiki for character sheets, lore, and art as well. There was a sense of a whole world there, which is hard to recapture when wrestling with discord's UI lol

That makes sense unfortunately. The site I used to be on had fast and slow plots, with the plot I was on expecting ~5 day turnaround on posts. If you missed that, then the GM could go on without you The split between fast and slow helped a bit, but there was always quick and slow players

I wonder what that would look like in the modern day. Mainly would love a casual way to write with other writers with similar interests I feel like nowadays the closest thing is table top games (online or off)? Though that feels closer to acting than making prose. Still good, but a bit different

I miss play-by-post forum roleplaying~ Having a small casual place for communal writing was such a boon for practice and growth that feels harder to replicate today. Being exposed to many different writing styles and directly interacting with them is so good! (also I miss my silly characters...~)
