The phrase "tactful fabulism" is a wonderful way of describing someone who is cordial at a meeting, but then recalls it as subject to violent disagreement and threats to his businesses. This is something Andreessen has done throughout his career.

In a Signal chat that captured his right-ward turn, Andreessen cast himself as the spokesman of the forgotten midwest: “I was born in 1971 in Iowa and grew up in Wisconsin. My people are furious and not going to take it anymore.” Reality: he gives zero fucks about "his people" including family.

This pattern of exaggerated slights and inability to acknowledge how the environment helped him is a pattern for Andreessen. He shits on his Wisconsin upbringing, but seems to have been well-treated and showered with resources. Says the NSF should be eliminated, even tho if was key to his education.
