So he bikes on the sidewalk, not because he wants to, but because when he bikes on the roads he... well, ends up in our clinic or, worse, the ER.
Show PostAnd since there's basically no real consequences for bad driving (cops won't even take a report if it didn't happen right in front of them) there's no real detterent to drivers making people's lives a living hell.
Show PostA patient of mine who bikes and was in a collision had some thoughts on this. He basically said that while he WANTS to bike on roads, and tries to, drivers (especially in South Seattle) will actively go out of their way to swipe at him or get in his way.
