I then noticed further discrepancies when comparing with NY state, since they were largely phased down as they performed standardization and lab uniformity switching at the time. Where their state-run was showing moderate-high levels for reporting states, while CDC was showing it as low.

So, I first noticed that issue with the medians in June 2025. They used the 5 point categories as absolutes - so you have to be 2 or higher to be designated low. Delaware was the first time I saw that. Where the split had them round down to very low when it should have been low - see post-it.

Adding in another thing you can do - I was on the CDC NWSS page today (the color map shown), and they are doing a survey currently on that page. I wrote a paragraph explaining these types of things with reccs of what to do better in the very last part of the survey. Something to try at least 🤷🏻‍♂️
