Queer love=tragedy is an old message that has been forced on audiences and many viewers therefore reacted to that with old trauma. It then wasn’t soothed by a tender reunion just sustained bitterness and bickering. And then no second kiss to override the previous message.

I guess I’m also wading in as an ace person. If the first kiss had not existed, there would be no need for a second. I think the problem that people have with the lack of a kiss in s3 is that the only kiss that was given is a tragedy, which frames queer romance as a tragedy.

I am going to gently push back here, I'm ace and I think that they absolutely should have kissed and that it IS an insult to the queer community that they only had one desperate heartbreaking kiss. Because if they were heteronormative they would have had a romantic kiss. And I don't see how...
