(Sabbat can and does keep Archer from going off the deep end, but he tends to assume that that's not necessary [in no small part because Archer prefers it when he assumes that and tries very hard to make it so])

So for the crew, it's pretty much: Archer keeps Sabbat from going off the deep end. Viola keeps Archer and Mortimer from going off the deep end. Mortimer keeps Viola and Fest from going off the deep end. (And Fest keeps Anneke from going off the deep end)
