as soon as Reagan reframed postsecondary education as job training and the liberal arts as "intellectual luxuries," it was over. people who just are there for jobs are less likely to protest.

I’ll mention another factor: universities working to shorten average time-to-degree, leading to advising dissuading students from taking courses they don’t explicitly need for their majors.

I find it intensely funny that WordArt making that kind of text art easy immediately killed it aesthetically, but the tool to make everything else easy might single-handedly make WordArt cool and attractive again
