Yes.... You would've thought so. But with a recruitment freeze in many Trusts they probably feel they've got us over a barrel.

It would help more to direct the VAT to organisations like them than cut it. Past studies have shown VAT cuts don't reduce the prices, the companies just keep more revenue. The £2 shower gel stays £2 and the government just gets less money.

Unless you pay people properly for their skills, knowledge and experience and provide a proper career path you are not going to recruit high calibre people nor are you going to retain those you've trained.

I have great admiration for these charities, but their very existence shows the how neoliberalism has broken society. For too many wealth and greed matters more than humanity. It doesn’t have to be this way.
