Went on a rock hounding trip to collect some mariposite! Mariposite is a chromium rich green mica that can be found in the white dolomitic marble. This particular spot was an old mine dump site, where it was dumped by folks looking for gold and silver! #rockhounding #mariposite

Back home after six weeks in the van. This week we will sort all of our years of taking home bits of Utah into tumblable stones and stuff we just give away at this point. We have so much petrified wood. Most of this from the same few acres we revisit each year in Wayne County. #rockhounding
